Trying (and Mostly Kinda Failing) to Give Meaning to Lyric Placement and Background Shapes in "Cat"
(Or: me going insane over things Iām not even sure mean anything)
Hello people of the jury! Today I want to talk about a few things about Kazuiās latest MV, Cat, which have been eating at my brain for a while. Essentially, the way that the transcribed lyrics show up all over the place, out of order, in different colors and languages; the shapes we see throughout the background in different colors; and what both of these things could mean. I emphasize could because itās all a mess and Iām not entirely confident weāre supposed to read into these things as much as Iām reading into them here. But oh well, if I donāt share this my head is going to explode, so I might as well.
(Thereās also a chance a lot of what I say here has been said before. Sorry if itās redundant)
CW: Suicide and depression, tumultuous relationships, internalized homophobia.
OP what the fuck are you talking about
Letās start with what I mean by ālyric placement.ā As youāre probably aware, the Cat MV has its lyrics transcribed in a very particular way. Sometimes words show up way after the lines are said, sometimes theyāre repeated, sometimes theyāre in French, sometimes they have extra words thrown in there, etc.
The main thing that tipped me off that something may be up is this line:
As you can see by the subtitles, the line is:
Since when have I ignored my feelings? Itās better to be a let down, than be let down yourself.
However, the MV also has the word ālieā on screen, even though itās never said in the lyrics. Unless the subtitles are wrong, but I trust thatās not the case.
Now, if I had a nickel for every time a weird-ass MV showing the inner thoughts of a blue haired liar with somewhat homoerotic undertones had English words which appear on screen yet do not correlate to the Japanese lyrics being sungā¦ Iād have two nickels, which isnāt a lot but itās weird that it happened twice. (/reference)
And itās not difficult to figure out why that would be the case. If you recall from his second voice drama, Kazui believes he should have kept lying to Hinako, to keep her happy. This is also stated in his interrogation questions.
(T1) Q18: Do you regret your āmurderā?
Kazui: I do regret it. I should have kept lying.
Unless heās lying, which he has no reason to do, we can tell he would have preferred continuing the lie if it meant Hinako stayed happy. That means, in his eyes, being a let down is worse than being let down himself. Thatās why the word ālieā shows up when he says the opposite in the lyrics, he doesnāt actually believe it. Itās assumedly just something he told himself right before āletting downā Hinako by telling the truth.
So, since the MV pulls a cute little trick with this line, is it possible that the placement of the other transcribed lyrics is significant? Well, thatās what the rest of the post will try to answer.
Then there are the colors. As you know, geometric shapes of all kinds of colors appear throughout the MV, and I believe these could mean certain things. Take a look here, for example.
to touch, to caress
Thatās the lyric weāre shown as Hinakoās crush towards Kazui is made evident for the first time in the MV. And in the background, we see a blue circle and a pink circle intersecting, and in the video, pulsating like a heartbeat. If we assume blue to be Kazui and pink to be Hinako, itās showing the idea of the two being together, ātouching and caressing.ā I noticed this thanks to Napkin's MV analysis, I recommend you watch it if you haven't!
So now, if that really is significant, are the other shapes and colors significant? For one, as blueepink07 pointed out in this post, itās possible large part of the color scheme was chosen to align with newspapers, because Kazui wants us/Es to uncover his lies as if weāre/theyāre getting information from a newspaper, or something like that. For more specific ideasā¦ thatās what the rest of the post is for.
Hypothesis
>The placement of the lyrics sometimes recontextualizes their meaning, and we have to figure out how.
>Lyrics in French, which are always smaller, are used in two ways. Either they simply repeat what the English words say, to give them emphasis, or they replace English words, which usually happens when the line alludes to Kazuiās "temptations", aka his homosexuality. And yeah, Iām assuming heās gay, because in my eyes itās honestly more heavily implied than some of the stuff we believe about other prisoners. Iāll give some of my reasoning later.
>The color of the lyrics and the shapes in the background can often be important, though there's a non-zero chance a lot of it is just aesthetics. As a warning, some of the wilder things I bring up not even I fully believe, but I'm going for the completionist route. If you have any better ideas for any of these, please feel free to tell me!
>Blue represents Kazui, pink represents Hinako. As much as gendering colors is stupid in concept, it is useful for symbolism, so.
>Light green represents Kazuiās "temptations", since itās connected to the green apple which shows up repeatedly.
>Yellowā¦ Okay, so this one is where stuff begins to break down. Itās really hard to tell what yellow could mean, but seeing the meanings the color usually has, Iāll say it represents a sort of desire for happiness. Itās similar to light green, but not quite the same, itās more general. Yet, it still makes the same dark green color when it mixes with Kazuiās blue as light green does. His happiness and temptations are closely linked. Yes Iām even bringing the intersectional colors into this.
>Red represents Kazuiās deepest desires. Itās the color which floods the background as he bites the pigeon, after all. Itās āstrongerā, deeper than light green and yellow, but itās sorta similar still.
>A darker red appears occasionally on some intersections, possibly representing blood and therefore Hinako's death.
>Purple only exists as the intersection of two colors, but its meaning changes depending on which colors are mixing. When blue and red mix, itās Kazuiās desires; when pink and blue mix, itās Hinakoās desire to be with Kazui.
>Orange... shows up like once it's kinda weird. I took to google again, and it usually represents enthusiasm, which is different enough from happiness that I'm comfortable saying that's what it is.
>The reason so many colors have similar meanings is to be able to convey Kazuiās emotions with more nuance. Please bear with me.
>Sometimes, colors mix very little, to the point where I think itās not meant to be important. I have to add this or else the post is impossible. Youāll see what I mean.
Alright, still with me? Sorry for the prelude, but it was easier to explain it all now before we really get started.
Unhinged Analysis, Start!
(Ah, Tumblr 30 image limit my beloved. Making me do shitty collages in Microsoft Powerpoint just so I can have visuals in my post about the funny apple man)
We open with the song title for obvious reasons, as well as blue backgrounds because itās Kazuiās MV, a small overview of the colors weāll see later, and a lyric repeated in both English and French for emphasis.
Lie until it gets better, follow the king of the masquerade
Itās the main thesis of the song, that Kazui, the king of the masquerade, believes it is better to keep lying until things improve than tell the truth and cause harm.
We also see his name and prisoner number, and an interesting introduction to the colors in circles. These are likely purely aesthetic, but if you want an actual explanation... uh.
UNHINGED INTERPRETATION START!
To the left, red and blue intersect and form pink, which doesn't usually happen. Usually, when red and blue intersect you get purple or a deeper red, not pink. I think the colors are partly inverted on this scene, noting the darkened background, so we're meant to take whatever the colors would usually mean, and reverse it. So Kazui and his deepest desires intersect on Hinako? Well, it's actually the opposite. Kazui's deepest desires don't include Hinako. Does that make sense? I say this is the meaning because the lyric there is "Love (plus) Destiny = Crap, smash it, shatter it, bye-bye". Keeping in mind the "destined love" is Hinako, it's clear Kazui doesn't like the relationship, we been knew.
The intersection also exists on the right, but there's also a white circle which inverts the inverted meaning and thus shows the truth. (???) So the part where Kazui is by himself turns into an enthusiastic orange and the intersection with his deepest desires turn into green.
You may have noticed that already makes absolutely no sense. I hope you can forgive me. Remember, I said they're probably just aesthetic here.
UNHINGED INTERPRETATION END!
Anyways, the masquerade lyric and the title show up again but in inverse order for aesthetic reasons, which I think is neat.
I really think this is just an introduction, and there's not much to read into.
The road the car is on is yellow and blue, with them mixing into dark green in the middle (that color does not exist on its own). As everyone does in life, Kazui is trying to stay on the road to happiness. Yes, we start off with quite a stretch, but most of this is going to be reaching, so. The dark green shows that part of that happiness would be something related to his ātemptationsā, his likely homosexuality.
Thereās a pink circle hovering around, Hinako. She also seeks āthe road to happinessā, and has her own desires (the red from the intersection of her pink and the yellow). That leads her to getting close to the blue of Kazui. Eventually, she becomes so prevalent in his life that her pink color strikes through the entire frame, showing the two were probably close in some way before the whole marriage thing happened.
Iāve already explained how and why the word ālieā is added into the visuals even though itās not in the sung lyrics.
Behind āI just wantedā we see a blue and a light green circle intersecting almost fully, cementing light green as the things Kazui truly wants.
The circles behind āto touch, to caressā have already been explained.
āI just wanted to be touchedā is accompanied with an interesting visual; a light green and a pink semicircle separated by a yellow triangle. I believe this represents the divide between Hinako and the things Kazui truly wants, the divide being his happiness.
Youāll notice that pink and light green intersect slightly, which is why I said sometimes that doesnāt mean anything. They donāt intersect enough for it to be significant. How much intersection is necessary for us to consider it relevant? Wellā¦ whatever fits the scene the best :v
āSoā is pink for Whit- wrong fandom sorry
āSo, itās wrong?ā With the pink āsoā, Hinako stands behind all the regrets Kazui might have about what heās done.
(My arms hurt from reaching too much-)
This scene is one of many which really makes me doubt the colors actually mean anything most of the time, but I can still try to think of an explanation. A lot of the colors pass by, as if theyāre simply events and experiences in Kazuiās life. Temptations, happiness, etc, with nothing intersecting too much. Though worth noting, blue and pink never touch on this scene, as if Kazui doesnāt want to be too close to Hinako, even though sheās an important part of his life.
There is one intersection I think may be interesting, though. Front and center, a blue rectangle is split right through the middle by a red line. Although thereās a lot going on in Kazuiās life, his deepest desires are always right in his core, front and center. Thatās part of why red works as these ādeepest desires.ā
Oh shove that! INNOCENT, isnāt that right?
The lyrics here are just whatās being sung, but itās interesting that theyāre on the floor. Itās almost as if Kazui is looking down on these words, disrespecting them by walking on them. He doesnāt truly think he can shove aside his wrongs, he doesnāt consider himself forgivable. At least, not yet.
(T1) Q19: Do you want to be forgiven?
K: Iām not sure. I also want my weakness to be tolerated, to be honest.
Well, sorry my guy, but Iām still voting you inno, compared to the other people here you did some wrong things but itās really not that bad.
(I'm skipping scenes that don't have anything relevant)
The blue background is just because this is the turning point of Kazuiās life, when he succumbs to societal pressure to marry Hinako. A bit self-centered to think of your color when proposing to someone else, maybe, but thatās not entirely new for Kazui, huh? Flawed characters, gotta love āem.
However, youāll notice the lyrics never actually make it into text.
Maybe, perhapsā¦ orā¦ could it come trueā¦ like Itās for the sake of true love, who wouldnāt lie for that?
These are some of the only lyrics in the song which are never ever transcribed. The others are:
Letās take a breather
To be caressed by you, that would be perfection - I wanted to be loved, just like a cat
Lick that sin and oppose punishment, until you can meet the king of the masquerade
I cannot for the life of me give you a good answer as to why that happens, but I can give a weird and stupid answer!
Because āLetās take a breatherā is framed as the start of the conversation Kazui and Hinako had which led to her death, itās possible the lyrics not transcribed are things Kazui said to her in that conversation, and they show up out of order. Not literally, he wouldnāt tell her he wants to be loved like a cat, but more so the meaning behind them. He told her he lied āfor the sake of true loveā, as he thought āit could come trueā if he just stuck with it long enough. He wanted to be loved for who he is (ālike a catā), and, uhā¦ to savor that sin of lying, so she can meet who he truly is? Maybe something like that.
I donāt know. Itās a huge stretch, but I donāt see why else they wouldnāt be transcribed.
Oh, yeah, this clusterfuck.
As far as I can tell, the lyrics here are only the ones from the following chorus, not the previous lines. I can make out, vaguely:
Love (plus) Destiny = Crap, smash it, shatter it, bye-bye That sticky-sweet sequence: Dinner + Camouflage + You-Know-What Loving Affection (minus) Love, itās tacky, this two-way deceit Victim and Perpetrator, letās keep it simple
I believe these lyrics are represented like this to show inner turmoil, a chaos inside Kazuiās mind. He despises the love assigned to him by ādestinyā (societal expectations), but he goes with the sequence anyways: dinners (dates), camouflage (lies), you-know-what (you know what? I donāt actually know what that means, though I can assume). Thereās affection, but itās not really love. This love is a two way deceit, as Kazui lies to Hinako and himself, telling himself this is what he wants.
āVictimā and āperpetratorā are written only in blue, pink and yellow, representing the union of Kazui and Hinako in search for happiness, but excluding Kazuiās actual desires. (Or maybe it's just the newspaper thing). āLetās keep it simpleā is in both pink and blue because both of them are involved in the āvictim-perpetratorā duo.
Notably, āVictim and perpetrator, letās keep it simpleā also shows up in French, again for emphasis. Itās a core part of Kazuiās character that he blames himself fully for what happened.
So this is the big part for all yāall Kazui/Bartender shippers out there. Kazui grabs a green apple out of a bunch of red ones, and it turns into a glass of an alcoholic drink. (The hand disappears from view for a moment, but it's still the same one as Kazui wears his watch and wedding ring on the same hand). And hey, you know how Hinako is represented by a red apple at the end? (Note how it falls and hits the ground, possibly representing Hinakoās suicide). I and others before me think red apples are women, the ones which Kazui is expected to like, while the green one might be a man.
I say that because it turns into a glass, which may represent the bartender, just as the next line plays:
Phew, oh wow Iām drunk Hey, so what if I said I liked-liked you, what would you do?
Note that he says the line, he doesnāt actually sing it, possibly implying itās an actual thing Kazui said in real life. Now, itās actually very possible that this isnāt happening at the bar from half itself. As pointed out by errorscribes in this post, the furniture doesnāt actually match either the bar or Kazuiās home, meaning he might be in a secret third thing. Still, however, the connection between the apple and the glass remains, especially since this āone thing turns into anotherā trick does actually happen a few times in the MV, notably with the wedding ring.
Thereās a few more things which make me believe it, but that was just a small tangent to explain why I'm decently convinced Kazui is gay, since I still see quite a bit of discussion around that.
After confessing to possibly the bartender, Kazui explains he wanted to ask āso itās out in the open.ā Note how thatās color-coded blue, possibly implying Kazui is āout in the openā, as in exposed or, perhaps more literally, out of the closet. He seems laidback and relaxed as he says it, but itās likely a lie, as the background suddenly turns to an ominous black while he retains the same position.
Thatās when he says āI just got a little greedyā, with āgreedyā repeated for emphasis. The pink is likely because this is something he wants to tell Hinako, as a sort of half-apology-half-excuse.
The lyrics of the next scene, with Kazui and Hinako having a dinner and all that, are transcribed right after, in what may be both the most interesting and the hardest-to-explain scene for this theory.
So, here's what I think we're looking at here. It's a chronological retelling of everything that happened after Kazui and Hinako got married, that's why the numbers are there. That's why the song's title, Cat, and Kazui's name are constantly on screen; it's the main story of the song.
We start with a glass falling, the calm before the storm, the moments before the disaster. In French and red, we see the lyrics from the scene prior:
All those things I wanna do that I canāt say out loud I gotta keep it inside and act The beating of this heartā¦ seeā¦ itās no longer about good and badā¦ it isnāt I realize the futility, but I still canāt help but dream
Kazui is repressing his feelings for now, those things he can't say out loud. The desire to express his feelings slowly stops being about good and bad, moral and immoral, it's a primal need, like a cat's need to hunt doves. See the connection to red?
"I realize the futility, but I still can't help but dream" is repeated in English for emphasis. Even though he knows it will be useless, he can't help himself, he wants to act on his true feelings. In particular, I believe the "dream" is to be loved by whoever the hell he confessed to (possibly the bartender), and this is what caused Hinako to commit suicide, seeing the distorted line in his Voice Character Reveal.
I'm so d[um]b... Wh[y] d[i]d I [h]a[v]e to [dr]e[a]m?
Note that "01" is written in both Kazui's blue and the yellow of happiness, showing that this scene is about him looking for happiness (deep analysis there, folks). Note the arrows, too. Hinako's pink arrow is literally between Kazui's blue and his happiness (yellow).
And that was when his feelings were repressed; because then, the glass hits the ground, showing that number 02 is when things went wrong. The lyric in English is "Phew, oh wow I'm drunk", as it's something Kazui isn't afraid of admitting. But in French, smaller, we see something he may want to say a bit quieter: "Phew, oh wow I'm drunk. Hey, so what if I said I liked-liked you, what would you do?"
(By the way, I'm not using direct translations, but rather what the corresponding lyric is in English. Probably should have mentioned that earlier)
We reiterate heās drunk, potentially to further imply a connection to the bartender, and we have Kazuiās confession. Notice the colors used are yellow and red, possibly because weāre seeing the confession of Kazuiās deepest desires as he attempts to be happy. Well, technically you might say a few things are pink, but since the saxophone is red, Iām assuming thatās the main color weāre supposed to take note of. Instead, the pink is almost an afterthought, as if Kazui is only thinking of Hinako sparsely in brief moments of lucidity from his drunkenness.
03 is the weirdest in terms of colors. The lyric displayed is āLove (plus) Destiny = Crap. Smash it, shatter it, bye-bye.ā I believe this is referring to the aftermath of the confession in 02, where the ādestined loveā of Kazui and Hinako starts to break down.
Why is there orange, then, if the relationship is breaking down? Well, because Kazui doesn't like the relationship. He's originally enthusiastic about revealing the truth and shattering the relationship (orange), because he thinks it will bring him happiness (yellow). Well, enthusiastic is maybe an exaggeration, but it's close to it at least. I'll explain what makes me believe that in a moment, bear with me. However, that's not how that would play out.
To see that it didn't go as Kazui had hoped, we have to look at the blue bars and the orange circles. It took me way too long to notice, but I think the blue bars are for the piano that plays in the scene, like the saxophone that showed up in 02. By that logic, the other thing could be someā¦ kinda flute? I donāt think so. I have no idea what that is.
In any case, although it's a bit of a stretch, something interesting happens with these bars and circles. Itās hard to describe without the video, but if you look at them (preferably at 0.5 speed or something) youāll see that when 03 first shows up, the bars and circles appear in a neat pattern, but as the lyric āsolidifiesā, the bars and circles begin āsputteringā, the pattern breaking down.
Neat pattern, few lyrics.
Broken pattern, full lyrics.
So, I think that's meant to represent Kazui hesitating about the destruction of his relationship. He starts enthusiastic, with the pattern stable. But as the idea that the relationship will come to an end starts to solidify, represented by the lyric slowly forming more and more, he starts to realize there might be some drawbacks he hadn't anticipated, which is why he starts to hesitate, and the pattern breaks down. The pattern doesn't have a concrete meaning, it's meant to give the vibe that Kazui is hesitating, which I swear makes sense if you look at it in the video please I swear I'm not that insane yet please-
The reason for Kazui's hesitation becomes evident in number 04. Do you see those white ovals around this number? Donāt they look a lot like clouds?
I believe this is the balcony scene, when Kazui tells Hinako the truth, and she commits suicide. Thatās why her pink is front and center, while Kazuiās temptations lure in the background in light green. Theyāre the context, the set dressing, for Hinakoās part of the play, if you allow me some half-adjacent metaphors. The colors mix into a dark red which almost looks like blood. I donāt think I need to explain how the death scene is connected to blood.
And with this scene in mind, where Hinako dies after learning the truth, Kazui reaches the conclusion represented by the lyric on screen. āLie, until it gets better, follow the king of the masquerade.ā Repeated in French for emphasis,. After Hinako dies, Kazui starts to believe he should have simply kept lying as he was doing before, when he still was āthe king of the masquerade.ā
Does any of that make any sense? I am grasping at straws and trying my damn hardest to reconcile all these things, but most of them are nonsensical. I have to remind everyone, Iām still not entirely sure Iām not just looking at nothing here.
The lyric that plays as Kazui falls to his knees is "I canāt stop, I canāt be normal. This feeling, it canāt be gratified", which is transcribed in the next shot.
Before we get to the shapes, we have to talk about the added lyric, which I find very interesting. The word "can't", big in the background and in pink. Possibly because Hinako can't gratify "this feeling." However, there's a funny thing about the word "can't"; it's a homophone of Kant, the philosopher Kazui and Es discuss in the second Voice Drama. I think this might be intentional.
As the characters discussed, Kant believed that lying is always inherently inmoral, even if the liar has good intentions (oversimplification, don't come at me philosophy majors). However, I want to talk about it a bit more in depth. Although I am dumb and I am not very good at philosophy, what I could gather is that Kant believes lying is unethical because it impairs the ability of others to make rational, informed decisions. He argued that because our freedom ends where others' begin, then we cannot lie, for that would impair the other's freedom. Regardless of what you think about this belief system, it's clear some connections can be made with Kazui. Under this logic, his lies impaired Hinako's freedom, as presumably, she wouldn't have married Kazui if she had had all the information from the start.
(Again, I am likely oversimplifying things, but I am not gonna write a thesis on Kant to try and figure out the funny liar Cat-boy)
Why am I bringing all this up? Am I just trying to trick you into thinking I have any idea what I'm doing? Correct! Seems Cat taught you well to avoid misdirection.
But in all seriousness, it's because that logic is the best (read: not actually that good but it's what I have) way I have of interpreting the shapes on the background. There's yellow triangles crossed by blue and then pink, but notably, they intersect little and seem to go in different directions. As if the path Kazui and Hinako are in are different from the one which leads to happiness. The idea here is that while Kazui obviously isn't happy with how things are going, Hinako couldn't be truthfully happy under Kant's ideas. Because she wouldn't have true freedom of thought until Kazui stopped lying to her, so in a way, her own happiness was also a lie. Thus why the lines representing her always go in a different way from happiness. And because she can't be happy, the yellow of her fake happiness turns into dark red as it crosses that word, again possibly referencing her death.
Is it a stretch? Oh, absolutely! I don't even know if I'm interpreting Kant right! But I frankly have no idea what else these things could mean. It's possible some of the shapes are merely aesthetic, and this is one of the scenes which make me believe that. I'm open to audience participation, you figure it out.
More imagery of a scattered and broken relationship, with blue and pink shapes all around Kazui, but which only barely intersect. The small French words are part of the lyrics, "this feeling, it's yearning to be satisfied." As I said, sometimes French words are some of Kazui's more hidden thoughts. This brings up an interesting dichotomy of "this feeling can't be gratified" being expressed in English and bigger font, while "this feeling, it's yearning to be satisfied" is in French and smaller. It's possible Kazui finds it easier to admit that his feelings can't be satisfied, rather than admitting he wants them to be satisfied. Interesting insight if true, it would mean Kazui has an easier time accepting hopelessness regarding his feelings than actually admitting to the feelings themselves. It sounds a bit weird in text, but I think it sorta makes sense in an "internal conflict" kinda way.
Let's take a breather
Thank you Kazui, I really needed a breather after all those stretches I made. Anyways, as part of this MV imposed intermission, I want to explain what I meant when I said Kazui was "enthusiastic" to break off the relationship.
Kazui takes off the wedding ring and turns into a cigarette, as Hinako watches in horror. The symbolism here is important; what Kazui is doing is pulling back the curtain, he's revealing how he actually feels about the relationship. It's like a cigarette, something he engages in for some form of momentary relief, relief from societal expectations, but still something ultimately harmful for him. This truth is why Hinako looks so horrified.
And we see exactly what Kazui is trying to do with this relationship when he puts the cigarette to his hand. He's trying to put it out, and in his mind, this is an abrupt and almost violent act, as that's the impression we get from how fast this frame flashes on screen. It's also worth noting, the act of putting out a cigarette like this would also hurt, showing that Kazui is also harmed by this action.
With the understanding that Kazui is actively trying to end the relationship, also shown by him biting the dove later, his expression tells us a bit of how he feels about it. And it's all smiles and smirks up until Hinako falls.
Now, to clarify, I think Kazui is presenting himself as far more aggressive and enthusiastic than he actually was at the time. I really doubt he actually smiled when he broke the news to Hinako. But I also believe it isn't a complete lie, there was some enthusiasm on his part to maybe try to live the life he genuinely wanted. And that's why 03 has the color orange.
I'll repeat it because this really isn't something I want to be misinterpreted on. While Kazui was somewhat enthusiastic to break off a relationship which was clearly making him unhappy, the video is very much exaggerating how much enthusiasm he actually had. At least, that's how I see it.
As stated, the lyrics cut back and forth very quickly to give the scene an aggressive edge, as if Kazui revealing his feelings is somehow a visceral act of violence. Accompanying the words are the definitions in French, because why the hell not. And yes, some parts aren't transcribed. Don't ask.
Like I said, red floods the background, as Kazuiās deepest feelings become all encompassing for the scene. Theyāre what caused Hinako to commit suicide, after all.
As I mentioned, āto be caressed by you, that would be perfection. I wanted to be loved just like a catā arenāt transcribed, but:
Maybe act capricious, at my word and at my fancy
Are the words which make up a silhouette of Hinako as sheās about to jump. If youāre unaware, ācapriciousā essentially means unpredictable, acting on impulses. So, like a cat. I believe the pictogram here is meant to represent how Kazuiās ācapriciousā actions led to Hinakoās suicide, and it doesnāt have to be more complicated than that.
ā¦ Well, thereās also a way to read this where Hinako is the one acting capriciously, killing herself purely on impulse. You know, itās been pointed out before that Hinakoās hair was already fluttering when Kazui bites the dove, implying she was already falling when Kazui revealed his feelings and destroyed the marriage. If you want, you could read this as saying that Kazui is subconsciously aware that his truth wouldnāt be enough to push the average person to suicide, so Hinako was āalready fallingā in the sense she had some pre-existing issues which contributed to her decision. For example, if she was already suffering from depression. And thus, in a sense, she also acted unpredictably, capriciously, when she jumped.
I think this is a possibility, and it would make Kazuiās inner world more nuanced than it already is. Heās a smart man, so even if he canāt quite get himself to believe it, itās possible he logically understands suicide isnāt something which people usually do for only one issue. Iām not sure if he would call her capricious, though, feels a bit mean in my eyes.
Anyways, while I wanted to acknowledge that possibility, I still think the first thing I said is the most straightforward interpretation.
Finally, my torture the video ends with the ever prevalent āLie until it gets better, follow the king of the masquerade,ā this time with yellow, blue and pink. For aesthetics mostly, I imagine, but it is interesting that once the apple splats, presumably representing when Hinako hits the floor, the color pink disappears, so āfollow the king of the masqueradeā only gets blue and yellow.
Another interesting thing is that the word āLieā accompanies Hinako as she falls backwards, and it almost looks like a mountain of lies is pushing her back, as in, pushing her to suicide. āUntil it gets betterā and āfollow the king of the masqueradeā also have fun visual things, but I do think those are purely aesthetic.
Red consumes the background as we see Kazui covered in blood, the result of his deepest feelings in his eyes.
Finally, the last line, ālick that sin and oppose punishment, until you can meet the king of the masqueradeā, isnāt transcribed anywhere. Iāve always found that line interesting, though. What does ālicking the sinā imply? Is he speaking to us when he tells us/Es to āoppose punishmentā? And have we not met the king of the masquerade yet? Presumably thereās a good bit of background weāre still missing on Kazui, but how far does it go? Is he trying to manipulate us/Es into an innocent vote?
ā¦ I swear, this fucker better not have a complete heel turn on trial three. Iām choosing to trust himā¦ for now, but I might have to look into it further.
Still innoing him now though.
Conclusion
So what did we learn? Not really all that much, most of this is somewhat nonsensical, and almost everything else could be gleaned from the lyrics themselves. I just wanted to share my pain, even if I have my doubts about a lot of this. There were a few interesting things to note, I guess. I donāt know what else to add, frankly.
Anyways, inno Kazui. And while youāre at it, inno Amane too.
If you made it this far, then I think you deserve the color yellow! Take care!

got curious and looked at the MILGRAM # on twitter. sorted by latest. worst mistake of my life šš
#curiosity killed the cat am i right (is that a motherfricking milgram reference)#it's just. full of people proudly saying ''i voted on this project (that i don't care about) because of a superstition š„°š„°''#''yeah there are people that might care about this project. but not me!! i just want free tickets to see my fav idols š„°š„°''#''found a coin on the street today. TOTALLY related to voting on this random project š„°š„°''#like. come on. this whole ''unforgiving shrine'' is just absurd.#people voting unforgiven with 5-6 different accounts and linking it to every single good thing happening in their lives.#it's just. unfair. to everyone that cares about this project.#fans voting innocent are simply outmatched by this whole insanity#and fans that care about milgram voting guilty for personal theories got their votes tainted and invalidated by this mess.#and it's like. getting worse. the guilty votes are getting faster. both for kazui AND mahiru.#at this point we should just create 50 twitter burner accounts each and start voting forgiven. at least it would balance out the voting.#i'm really hoping this is just temporary and these assholes will just leave the fandom in peace soon#but if this continues until amane's voting starts i'll get kind of worried for future votes.#i was planning on voting amane guilty but if this whole unforgiving shrine continues i'll just vote her inno#because i simply will not be able to vote her guilty with a clear mind while she is being bombarded with guilty votes for NOTHING.#i don't want my votes being summed up with empty meaningless tainted votes.#looking on the bright side. if they stop this mess soon we can still balance the vote out. his voting only ends in october after all.#anyways. can't have shit in detroit am i right. not main tagging because this post is kind of bitter.

Can't believe people are still reblogging my post about the Kazui voting situation and the "unforgiveness shrine" even though it's kind of outdated now... like this is by far the post I've made that has gotten the most notes (almost 300 as of today) and it's so embarrassing for me because that was like my third? fourth? original post on tumblr and one in which I was being pretty negative and bummed out, but of course it had to become my most popular post... it's not that surprising seeing the content or even the goal of the post (informing the English speaking part of the milgram fandom of the voting situation) that it has been reblogged a lot (and by rather big accounts too), but every time I see "x like/reblogged your post" and it's this one I'm like "noooo stooop this is oooold, why would you do thaaaat" and I cringe a little inside because I feel so embarrassed for some reason
#i have absolutely no ill will towards those who interact with this post even now of course#it's just that i remember feeling very overwhelmed when it gained a lot of attention last month#i was happy to share the info on here but i was and still am so new to tumblr and the milgram fandom (i was just a silent observer before)#that i felt a kind of imposter syndrome of sort? idk it was weird#anyway I'm glad the voting issue seems to have died down now (at least kazui's vote is going back up so it's a good sign)#because amane's inno vote is already dropping fast enough we don't need a guilty shrine on top of things

reread blue period lol anyway this is kazui life philosophy core
so scared of being met w disappointment that hed rather have and be nothing in the first place. always acting on his perception of othersā perception of him
methinks this is why imposter boulevard is so important in his personal journey w this mindset, especially when he brokedown. that section of the vd directly follows the moment he was hit w the realization of how much he assumed of esās judgement of him, and how him taking off his ring was no ones choice but his own. bc he argued his decision to ultimately be under the influence of being granted an inno verdict by es, that he was forgiven for what he thought to be the desires that have plagued him and have been beyond his own control
but he wasnt forgiven for anything like that; he was forgiven for a false assumption and a final resort out of someone elseās confusion. he let himself be driven to feel a resemblance of relief from his wifes death for what is essentially non existent validation from made up justification
by that logic, hes relived the entire scene that led to hinakos death in the first placeāthrough the removal of the ring under the guise of self liberation. "[hinako] must have thought so as well" for a reason
so he cant blame anyone or anything else for making him prioritize his feelings after swearing never to do so again, or for esās disappointment in kzis treatment of his marriage, or for being a liar; now every single one of the poor choices hes ever made is solely on him. by his own will hes proven that he isnt the unwilling participant he wants to be, and there really isnt a way a privacy violating footage extraction device could change that, let alone if he himself tried
#rambles#milgram#kazui mukuhara#draft posting Hey what does this mean. why did this go in four different directions at once#i dont remember writing this ever

Im fully shocked and appalled that Kazui's guilty vote is at 50.41% that man is innocent and it's not just because I think he's a hottie.
Here are some reasons to vote Kazui Innocent:
Starting with the basics: He didn't cheat on his wife, this was confirmed.
Whatever secret he had been keeping from his wife, while obviously devastating, didn't intend to kill her. Even if he revealed this as soon as he knew, the situation probably wouldn't have turned out any better, or it could've ended just the same.
Whatever his secret is (to me it is his homosexuality or his rushing into a marriage), it clearly eats at him, he never wanted to hurt his wife in anyway but also couldn't stand living in a marriage where he isn't happy.
He is an actually good man, like, he cares about the other prisoners well being, even if some of em are a bit wack. Really goes to show that even the thought of hurting his wife by cheating wasn't even in his fucking mind, he couldn't do that to her. So his secret must be something involuntary like falling out of love, not wanting to continue in a marriage and/or being gay or queer (maybe aro).
In my conclusion, he is INNOCENT
Please vote Kazui as inno I beg, he has legit done nothing wrong.

Okay so I think this is how my voting is going to go next Trial? Unless huge stuff is revealed/happens
Haruka - Innocent
Haruka's expressed that he regrets what he did and feels horrible about it- he knows what he did was bad, and he wants to be better. He just needs the proper environment to heal.
Yuno - Innocent
She did nothing wrong. Like unless they suddenly decide she did infanticide instead of abortion, there's absolutely no question about it that she doesn't deserve to be in Milgram?? Sorry Yuno I don't see you as a innocent girl who can't do anything wrong, you just. Did not do anything wrong here.
Fuuta - Innocent
Now that he's realized that, yeah, doxxing people and witch hunting them is wrong and hurts people, I don't think he'd do it again. I mean, in trial 1 I think he was already sorta horrified by what happened, but trying not to claim responsibility- because that's a horrid thing to think about. "My actions killed someone." That's scary. But he's accepted it, and I think he's going to work on himself and be better.
Muu - Innocent
I know she was an asshole and bullied others. However, I'm a firm believer that NOBODY deserves to be bullied. I think everybody in the situation just majory sucked ass. And she's clearly horrified by what she did, she's just putting on different personas to cope with it. Get this girl some therapy.
Shido - Guilty
So, from my understanding, Shido convinced families that their loved ones were beyond saving, and then he killed them and harvested their organs? Very shitty to me. Once the trials are over I really don't think this guy will remain innocent. I know he was very suicidal in the beginning, but it read more to me that he was upset what he was doing didn't work out- that his wife is dead anyways. Idk.
Mahiru - Guilty
100% Guilty. I really can't understand Mahiru Inno Voters- Mahiru is an incredibly selfish and self-centered person, and it killed her lover. In trial 1 she's just singing about her needs in a relationship, about how she knows how to love better than her partner did. In trial 2 there is quite literally a line that goes "my emotions are out of control? I don't care!" Mahiru WILL hurt others and refuse to change herself over and over again. She doesn't even seem remorseful about her dead boyfriend. Like. She lowkey flirts with Es upon meeting them. Mahiru is just looking for someone else to hurt. She doesn't seem to understand that it isn't wrong to want to love and to be loved, but what's wrong is ignoring your partners needs for your own and making every part of the relationship about you. Also, I think she may have forced herself on him based on that scene where she does grabby hands and pounces, making the feathers scatter everywhere (like its what broke her boyfriend).
Kazui - Innocent
Kazui tried, he tried so hard to love his wife the "correct" way. Whether he's gay or alloaro, Kazui DID care about his wife and didn't want to hurt her. He couldn't keep lying to her and himself anymore. But the truth killed her, and Kazui feels so fricken?? Awful over it??? They were work friends before they got together, he clearly liked her. Just not romantically. He's struggling between whether lying eternally is the better choice, or if being truthful to himself and everyone else is the better choice. The truth killed his wife, but the lies were slowly killing him. Idk man, I've been in the same situation (nobody died though) and it's so hard to tell the truth about your identity.
Amane - Guilty(?)
Purge March is gonna help me decide, I think. I don't think Amane should've been voted guilty last trial- it, uh, clearly didn't have the affect we wanted it to have. But also, she's so far gone in her cult's beliefs that... I don't think either vote will shake that. I love Amane, she's a wonderful character, but Milgram won't help her. She would need YEARS of therapy and a safe, stable environment, and patient people, to help her heal. A Guilty vote won't help her. An Innocent vote won't help her. So Purge March is just gonna help me decide what to vote- because I highly doubt we can get EVERYONE in the community to refrain from voting. I'm leaning towards Guilty, though.
Mikoto - Guilty(?)
Okay this depends on who actually committed the crime. I believe that Mikoto himself did it, and his alters are trying to protect him and take the blame for the crime. In that case, my boy is guilty (sorry Mikoto). But if Milgram goes the "killer alter" route, then he's innocent. You can't really control what your alters do, yk? I might vote him innocent depending on the circumstances of his crime, too- it all depends. I'm hoping Double sheds more light on what's going on with my guy. (Btw he's my favorite character I'm so pumped to see what happens)
Kotoko - Guilty
I'm gonna be transparent here, i dont know Kotoko's character very well. So keep that in mind. Anyways. Her first trial song was very cool and its great she stopped a predator. I am not disagreeing with that. I do recognize that she probably felt forced to take on this vigilante role- that the law failed her and many others. However... we don't know who exactly she sees as "guilty". Obviously, she sees the prisoners voted "guilty" as guilty, but what about outside of Milgram? Does she just punish those breaking the law? Those she personally disagrees with? I think it's dangerous for her to do that. I think she's Guilty currently, but I'll have to see how her song goes- it may give me more insight on her thoughts and ideals.
#if you disagree#cool beans#id love to discuss#but would not love to be called slurs#share your opinions respectfully#its not hard#i will respect your opinion#i may disagree but thats okay#milgram#milgram voting#haruka sakurai#yuno aisaka#fuuta kajiyama#muu kusunoki#shidou kirisaki#kazui mukuhara#amane momose#mikoto kayano#kotoko yuzuriha

heyo!! i thought I sent this in already, but I guess not o.O
for the writing ask game, morning! :D
Woo thank you pal! :D Fingers crossed for an upcoming inno sweep, have something with Kazui and Fuuta in the morning
(From this ask game)
Kazui's body remembered the sunrise. His mind wouldn't have thought much of it, stuck in a place like this, but his body pulled him from sleep at the same time each morning as if he were still in the habit and standing on the balcony watching the sun with his morning coffee.
He couldn't quite replicate the experience, though not for lack of trying. He'd dress, pick up whatever drink he could grab from the dining hall before it officially opened for breakfast, then move to the common room to sit and enjoy the morning in solitude. Even Kotoko, the next earliest riser, wouldn't make an appearance for an hour or so.
Which is why he nearly spit out the orange juice he'd swiped when Fuuta strolled in just after him and sat himself down directly next to him. It looked like his little silent retreat was out of the question for the day.
"Can I sit here?" Fuuta said, already taking a seat. He rubbed his good eye groggily.
"Uh, sure! I'd love the company." Kazui nodded to him, trying to hide the surprise in his face. He must have failed. Or maybe Fuuta would have leapt to defend himself regardless.
"I couldn't sleep, okay? I hear you come out here at the ass crack of dawn every day, I just wanted to see what you were up to."
Kazui gestured a hand across the empty room with a dry smile. "Just this, sorry to disappoint."
It was easiest to leave it at that. He wasn't sure how to articulate the reason early mornings were so sacred to him -- the peace and the solitude and the ability to be himself without a single expectation put on him. He could take some time to prepare himself for the day ahead without putting up any airs for anyone. It probably would've sounded pathetic to a kid like him, anyways. He was always so full of energy, Kazui doubted he'd need more than a minute to get himself ready for his day.
Fuuta sank deeper into his hoodie. "Hmph."
The two fell silent. Kazui grew antsy as he sipped his drink. At first it had been nice, sitting in something reminiscent of his old fishing trips. But he didn't think Fuuta appreciated the quiet the same way. Was he looking to talk? Was he waiting for more from him? Kazui had never wanted kids -- not like Hinako had dreamed of them -- so he didn't know the first thing about starting a conversation with someone his age.
As he scrambled for something to say, Fuuta whispered. "It's nice."
"Hm?"
"This. No prying eyes, nobody trying to start shit."
Kazui didn't mention that Fuuta was usually the one starting shit.
"I hope I didn't interrupt."
"Not at all! I'm glad you think it's peaceful too."
"Yeah... I do."
This time when neither of them spoke, there was no anticipation in it. Kazui breathed deep. His thoughts were allowed to drift freely. His mind felt at ease. He closed his eyes. Though there was no need to, he found himself opening his mouth.
"You know, I didn't realize how much I'd miss the sunrise."
Fuuta shifted. "Eh, I never saw it. I usually slept pretty late." He added, "I'm sorry you miss it, though."
"Thanks. I just hope I'll see it again..."
He wondered if the thought was too suddenly sentimental, but Fuuta nodded gravely. "I hope so too."
By the time prisoners started trickling into the common area, Kazui was calm and ready to begin his day. Fuuta stood to leave.
"Thanks for letting me hang out," he said.
"Heh, I should be thanking you. I didn't expect anyone to stick around for a boring old man like me."
Fuuta's expression twisted up. There was the energy Kazui had been expecting. "Jeez, you keep thinking you're so special! You're just like everyone else, you hear? You're not some boring old man no one likes. There's a lot of people just like you. A lot of us are just like you."
Kazui sat for one more moment after he left. He took the final sip of his drink.
A lot of them just like him? Now, that was a nice thought.
#milgram#kazui mukuhara#fuuta kajiyama#ah thanks for the request pal :))#i keep trying to delve more into characters' thoughts instead of just sticking to objective action but i keep leaning that way lmao#but yeah in the hopes of his voting swinging innocent i tried to peek into kazuis mind a bit :3#i think he and fuuta have a lot of similarities (hiding themselves and performing an identity out of fear - cowardly - uhh gay)#and ive been meaning to write something positive between them because kazui saved him#i hope you enjoy!! they deserve a nice peaceful morning inside milgram with all the shit going on outside adfdsf#gonna write some yuno drabbles at my partners request next but feel free to send in something š#drabbles

Continuing on "Haru's quest to annoy FF about every character in Milgram because they had the bad luck of getting interested in it basically at the same time he did" (/lh) Next on the list of prisoners is Fuuta. I remember you once said that he's one of your favorites along with Amane, Mikoto, and Muu, so I'm interested to hear you cover him !
Ah, so thatās why youāre doing this, your character motivation. The lore thickens. /lh
Yeah, I like Fuuta quite a bit. Iām always a sucker for protag foils, and since we can consider Es and even ourselves as the protag(s), then obviously I was going to love Fuuta. His views on justice are really interesting when considering we kinda do the same thing he ended up in Milgram for, deciding on peopleās fates with horribly incomplete information and trying to justify to ourselves why weāre in the right for causing these people psychological pain. Not like itās gonna stop me from voting people guilty when I think itās deserved though lol.
CW: Cyberbullying, mention of suicide and murder.
(T2) Q9: How do you feel about the first trials results?
F: Youāre the same as me.
Oh yeah thatās the good shit right there.
That is certainly a huge factor, Fuuta is great as a reflection to some of Milgramās main themes and I love him for that. Even if his personality is maybe reminiscent of some other characters Iāve seen (when did Xander Matthews and Ace Markey have a secret love-child and why does he have a Bakugo complex), heās still unique enough that I donāt see it as much of a problem.
And letās not kid ourselves. Part of me enjoying a character sometimes comes from loving their song, and not only is Bring it On a banger like no other, Backdraft is probably my favorite Milgram song.
Thereās also just a certain amount of hilarity that comes with the fact that people in Trial 1 managed to inno someone they believed to be a damn organ harvester then turn around and guilty my guy for having a Twitter account. Truly the most unforgivable of crimes.
Itās especially interesting now with Backdraft the theories around his āmurderā, because I actually think it may be one of the more unclear ones in terms of what happened. You might have seen thereās a theory he wasnāt the one to start the witch hunt on the girl that ended up dying, which I find is quite believable even if we still have to explain what was going on with that photo he took of someoneās home in his Undercover silhouette thing. But whatās even crazier to me is the goddamn Undercover kill shot where his victim has both shoes on, unlike Mahiruās and Kazuiās. Does this imply it wasnāt a suicide? Is it because whoever has the orange spray paint that shoots really straight at the one graffitiās forehead actually murdered the girl themselves? But Fuuta still got blamed for it?
Hey remember when I said the more headache inducing a character the more Iām going to love them?
Anyways, I also think itās cool how much Backdraft references the events during Milgram themselves. I love Es appearing in a prisonerās song, too, especially with the whole āthe one shadow from Purge March kinda looks like Es thingā-
Oh yeah Amane! I love her dynamic with Fuuta so, so much. Theyāre so cool and awesome and great and I hope Fuuta doesnāt get too indoctrinated but also I think itād be kinda funny. I donāt think it would happen though, I trust big bro Fuuta will help Amane reject her cultās teachings please I need them to have a wholesome ending where they just eat cake and play video games together you know Amane would beat his ass in any game even though sheās probably never touched a videogame in her life-
I am immensely normal about them, as you can clearly tell.
Anyways, some other things which I find really interesting.
(T1) Q1: What is a friend?
F: Folks you can get hyped over the same thing with
(T2) Q16: Do you have a lot of online friends?
F: I don't know if we were friends or not. There were times when we had fun together. But I don't know if I can call it that.
Am I reading this wrong or did my guy change his definition of what a friend is specifically to exclude his old friends? Because thatās some crazy character development right there.
(T1) Q9: Do you have apologetic feelings for who you killed?
F: I never killed anyone. Didn't you hear me? I thought you were a guard!
(T2) Q6: Do you remember the name of the person you killed?
F: I'm pretty sure I do. I saw it often after all.
So heās admitting he did kill someone in a way. More character development.
(T1) Q10: Which prisoner do you get along with the most?
F: I'm not anyone's happy friend. Well Haruka's younger, so I take care of him.
(T2) Q2: How do you feel about Haruka?
F: This isn't the time to worry about other people. Plus it's not like he's a kid either.
More changes, my guy really is very different from trial 1 himself and I think that makes him extremely compelling.
Okay I need to stop or Iām gonna be here forever, this guy is just all kinds of silly. Anyways, love him. Please donāt get indoctrinated into Amaneās cult.
(T2) Q14: What are you thinking about now?
F: Maybe because I'm anxious, but I want something to rely on.
Please. Fuuta youāre like the only one there who might be able to reach her Fuuta please.
Anyways, I gotta go before those two rot my brain further. Hope you enjoyed! Take care!

Kazui's innocent percent has finally gone above 49% again! Seeing it slowly rise in the past 5 days feels great. :)
However, Mahiru's innocent percent has been slowly going down. I don't think it's fast enough to get her a guilty verdict since we're so late into her voting period, but it makes me wonder if it's something new with her or if the non-Milgram voters are switching targets.
Anyway, here's a graph.
I only started actually writing down the numbers recently (when the inno started going up), but the difference is undeniable.
#milgram#iris talks#we can save him!#i also have a graph ready for amane to keep track of her too once her song comes out#if anyone's curious i check the voting at 7:20 UTC+08

Silly little like. Thoughts post. Not on purge march but on what could happen t3 cuz I don't care too much? About the last 3 prisoners' crimes
I think it'd be funny if they killed off a character during the trial. Like. In the middle of t3. Like for example if amane is inno voted this round they could put mahiru on a "timer" in which she dies before the trial ends (when amanes t3 votes open perhaps...)
It is the last trial after all, they can afford to kill off characters cuz they only need to be alive for their song+vd and interro
Idk it's an interesting thought to me
#also itd ruin everyone like think abt it#milgram#posting thoughts i have in school and like to think about#mahiru dying in t3 would destroy people tho i think#like#not just in fandom but the characters too#also i think yamanaka mentioned milgram still being in the ātame halfā#so i hope they like. explode someone in t3. raise the stakes a lil#it'd be fun tho like#doesnt matter how you voted you let this happen and concequences exist type deal#anyways dont ask me what i think of amanes votes i dont like her but i dont think she deserves another guilty but she'll probably end up#killing mahiru if shes inno so like. idk i like mahiru more than i like amane for one#purely personal lol i don't like primary schoolers#ialso itd make other characters react so strongly#yuno would be Pissed#fuuta would critisise es (us)#shidou would go bacj to the im a terrible person please kill me except with a side of i cant even do my job right#mahiru.#kazui would also be a lil like. augh#amane would be so proud of herself wouldnt she#idk i don't like vhildren man (joking)#these sre just disorganized and unsorted thoughts so dont mind them lol#oh kotoko mihht be a lil mad too cuz mahiru was deemed innocent but died anyway#idk#also to elaborate on dont care abt their crimes i just dont like amane i think mikotos is like. idk. and kotokos is predictable#not enough silly symbolism and tiny bits of random hard to miss evidence to interest my bird brain#specifically easy to read symbolism tarot symbolism is too complicated for me personally#idk i might have controversial takes lol

hi I have more evidence for this. !!!!
In Kazui's 2nd Trial VD he says that "Maybe that means that I don't have to do this anymore?"
The "that" he's referring too being Es voting him innocent and forgiving his crime, or as Kazui has interpreted it, possibly forgiving his sin. When he says "this" he's referring to his lies, hiding his true self from those he cares about because he's worried about what their reactions will be. Because he's been voted innocent he believes that maybe telling the truth and being who he was since birth isn't actually the bad thing he's made it out to be in his head, an interpretation that's backed up when he says "Thanks to that [his innocent vote], I was feeling better when the second trial started..."
Kazui has been alot more open about whatever his sin is in both his 2nd Trial MV and VD and although the prisoners don't know what we see in their MV's, they obviously do know what they say in their VD's. If Kazui sees that being more open and true to himself has just led to a guilty vote, he'll go back to lying just like he did at the end of Half.
#also people saying that 'his inno vote didnt affect him' / 'a guilty vote wont affect him' makes no sense#because first off: thats litteraly never been true for any of the prisoners its not going to be true for kazui#and secondly: hello his voice drama??? did we listen to the same thing????#i can understand why somebody might vote him guilty but thats just. not true lol#anyway gonna spread my inno kazui truth until his final verdict comes out šÆ#milgram project#kazui mukuhara

Do you mind talking about how you voted for the characters starting from when you got into MILGRAM? Any times you switched votes or stopped voting altogether?
I don't! So I got into Milgram during INMF but I didn't start voting till Purge March. I voted a bit for Kazui and Mahiru (Both Inno, I didn't think too hard into these series before, Im not sure if I Would change my votes but I wasnt really engaging as deeply with them at this point)
Purge March....well....Inno day 1 never back down never give up! Im Never going to vote her guilty- you could tell me she exploded a planet and I would go "alright, shes neurodivergent and a minor" and vote her inno anyway. The bias is Real when it comes to her.
When Double came out I wasnt really sure what to make of it. Voted Mikoto innocent for a bit (mostly frustrated to learn that people were planing to vote him guilty for being...bad rep?) and then when Amane's voting ended I uh...stopped. Sorry. I noticed it was just kinda hanging at a percentage and just left it be.
For Kotoko....I...Have not been voting in a while, mostly to sort out my feelings, partially cause she's already so guilty it feels kinda like laying it thick. Still would vote her guilty if I went to it.
I have a lot of feelings on Kotoko. She's complicated in a way I didn't expect. I like her a lot for that.
